Angie’s trip last week to Baghdad only confirms to those of us who are paying close enough attention that she’s not the least bit interested in the plight of under-privileged and neglected children right here in her own country.

She obviously prefers the glory and limelight attached to fighting for the quality of life for kids in other countries.

Currently, those who are living in Iraq.

Sure, she’s the designated goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, but wouldn’t it make more sense for this Hollywood do-gooder to focus her energies on the needs of children suffering hardships at home in her own country?

Consider the fact that she’s only adopted kids from third world countries - not a single American child living in impoverished conditions who would just as readily prosper from her wealth and notoriety.

“There’s lots of goodwill and lots of discussion, but there seems to be just a lot of talk at the moment,” Jolie told CNN in an exclusive interview. “What happens in Iraq and how Iraq settles in the years to come is going to affect the entire Middle East. And a big part of what it’s going to affect, how it settles, is how these people are returned and settled into their homes and their community and brought back together and whether they can live together and what their communities look like.”

Blah, blah, blah.

Ang spouts nothing but rhetoric about people living in a foreign country without giving a thought to what’s happening right here in her own homeland.

She did manage to squeeze in a visit to boost the morale of American troops during lunch in the well-guarded Green Zone in Baghdad before she jetted out of Iraq.

God bless America and Angelina Jolie for giving a little something back to her country!
